Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before making a vehicle rental reservation through kutaisicarrental.com.
1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of kutaisicarrental.com and any vehicle rental bookings made through or facilitated by this platform. This website operates as a comparison and booking service connecting travelers with licensed vehicle rental providers operating in Kutaisi, Imereti, Georgia, and surrounding regions.
By accessing this website, submitting a booking inquiry, or completing a reservation, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Service in their entirety. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use this platform or attempt to make a booking through it.
We reserve the right to update or amend these terms at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the site following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. The date at the bottom of this page reflects when these terms were last reviewed.
2. Eligibility Requirements for Vehicle Rental in Kutaisi
To rent a car through this platform, renters must meet the minimum eligibility criteria set by the individual rental provider. The following general requirements apply across most providers listed on this site.
2.1 Minimum Age for Car Hire in Kutaisi
The standard minimum age to rent a vehicle in Kutaisi is 21 years old. Drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 may be classified as young drivers and will typically be subject to a daily young driver surcharge, usually ranging from $5 to $12 per day depending on the vehicle category. For premium, luxury, or large SUV categories, the minimum age requirement is often raised to 25 years old. Some providers may permit rentals from age 19 for economy and compact vehicles - please confirm this directly at the time of booking.
2.2 Driving License Requirements
All renters must hold a valid, full driving license that has been held for a minimum of one year at the time of pickup. The license must be presented in its original form - photocopies or digital images are not accepted. Licenses printed in Latin script are generally accepted by all Kutaisi-based providers. If your national license uses a non-Latin alphabet (Cyrillic, Arabic, Chinese, etc.), you must carry a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your national license. The IDP must be issued in your home country before travel - it cannot be obtained in Georgia.
2.3 Additional Driver Eligibility
Any person intending to drive the vehicle must be named as an additional driver on the rental agreement and present their valid license at pickup. Adding a second driver typically incurs a small daily fee. Allowing an unlisted person to drive the vehicle voids your insurance coverage and may result in full liability for any damages incurred.
3. Bookings, Reservations, and Cancellation Policy
Reservations made through kutaisicarrental.com are subject to availability and the specific terms of the provider you select. The following general conditions apply.
3.1 Reservation Process
To complete a booking, you must provide accurate personal information including your full legal name, passport or national ID number, a valid email address, and a valid payment method. You are responsible for ensuring all booking details - pickup location, return location, dates, vehicle category, and any selected extras - are correct before confirming your reservation. Errors discovered after booking may not be correctable without incurring amendment fees.
3.2 Free Cancellation and Flexible Booking
Many vehicle rental options available on this platform include free cancellation up to a specified period before your scheduled pickup time - most commonly 24 to 48 hours in advance. The exact free cancellation window is displayed clearly on the booking confirmation. Cancellations made within the free window will receive a full refund to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days, subject to your bank's processing times.
3.3 No-Show and Late Cancellation Fees
If you fail to collect the vehicle at the agreed pickup time and location without prior cancellation (commonly referred to as a no-show), the full booking amount may be charged and no refund will be issued. If you cancel after the free cancellation window has closed, a cancellation fee equivalent to one day's rental or a percentage of the total booking value may apply. Specific penalties are outlined in your booking confirmation email.
3.4 Amendments to Bookings
Requests to amend a confirmed booking - including changes to pickup date, return date, or vehicle category - are handled directly by the rental provider. Amendment availability depends on vehicle inventory and may result in a rate difference. We recommend contacting the provider as early as possible if your plans change.
4. Pricing, Payment, and What Is Included
4.1 Displayed Prices and Currency
All prices displayed on this platform are shown in US dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Prices are indicative and subject to change based on real-time availability, season, and provider rates. The final confirmed price is the amount stated in your booking confirmation email. Kutaisi-based providers may process final charges in Georgian Lari (GEL) at the prevailing exchange rate on the date of pickup.
4.2 What Is Included in Your Rental
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, vehicle rentals booked through this platform include the following as standard: basic Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance, third-party liability coverage, unlimited mileage (where selected), and local taxes applicable under Georgian law. Roadside assistance coverage varies by provider - confirm this detail before accepting the vehicle.
4.3 Optional Extras and Additional Charges
The following extras are available at additional cost and must be selected at the time of booking or confirmed with the provider at pickup: GPS satellite navigation, child seat or infant carrier, booster seat, additional driver registration, full coverage insurance upgrade, wifi hotspot device, and roof rack or luggage carrier. Extras added at the counter rather than at the time of booking may be charged at a higher rate.
4.4 Fuel Policy
The most common fuel policy offered by Kutaisi rental providers is full-to-full: you receive the vehicle with a full tank and are expected to return it full. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than received, a refuelling charge will apply, typically at a rate higher than local pump prices. Some providers operate a full-to-empty policy where you prepay for a full tank - unused fuel is not refunded under this policy. Your booking confirmation will specify the applicable fuel policy.
5. Vehicle Use Rules and Prohibited Activities
By accepting the rental agreement at pickup, you agree to use the vehicle solely in accordance with these Terms and the rental provider's conditions. The following restrictions apply to all rentals facilitated through this platform.
5.1 Lawful Use Only
The vehicle must be used only for lawful purposes and in compliance with the road traffic laws of Georgia. This includes observing all speed limits on routes between Kutaisi and destinations such as Prometheus Cave, Martvili Canyon, Batumi, and Tbilisi, wearing seatbelts at all times, and not using a handheld mobile device while driving.
5.2 Prohibited Uses
The following activities are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of the rental agreement, full loss of insurance coverage, and personal liability for all damages:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that impairs judgment. Georgia enforces a zero-tolerance alcohol limit for drivers.
- Using the vehicle for off-road driving, racing, rallying, or any competitive event.
- Subletting, re-renting, or allowing any person not listed as an additional driver to operate the vehicle.
- Transporting the vehicle outside of Georgia without prior written approval from the rental provider.
- Using the vehicle to tow or push another vehicle or trailer unless specifically authorised.
- Carrying more passengers than the vehicle's rated seating capacity.
- Transporting hazardous, flammable, or illegal materials.
5.3 Vehicle Condition and Care
You are responsible for maintaining the vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition throughout the rental period. Any damage, accident, theft, or mechanical failure must be reported to the rental provider immediately and - in the case of an accident or theft - to the Georgian police (emergency number 112) before moving the vehicle. Failure to report an incident promptly may void your insurance coverage.
6. Insurance and Liability
6.1 Standard Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
All vehicle rentals on this platform include a basic Collision Damage Waiver as standard. CDW limits your financial liability for damage to the rental vehicle to a defined excess amount, typically ranging from $300 to $1,500 depending on the vehicle category. This excess will be charged to the card used at the time of rental pickup in the event of an at-fault incident.
6.2 Optional Full Coverage Upgrade
You may reduce or eliminate your excess liability by purchasing a full coverage insurance upgrade. This option - sometimes referred to as Super CDW or Zero Excess coverage - is available at the time of booking or at the rental counter. Full coverage typically removes your liability for damage to the rented vehicle, theft, and windscreen or tyre damage. Review the provider's specific policy documentation for complete details of what is and is not covered.
6.3 Exclusions from Insurance Coverage
Insurance coverage, whether basic CDW or full coverage, does not apply in cases where: the vehicle was being driven by an unlisted driver, the incident occurred while the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the damage resulted from a prohibited activity listed in Section 5.2, or the incident was not reported to the provider and relevant authorities within the required timeframe.
7. Limitation of Liability
kutaisicarrental.com operates as a comparison and referral platform. We are not a vehicle rental company and do not own, operate, or maintain any rental fleet. The binding rental contract is formed between you and the individual rental provider - not with this platform.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that the information displayed on this website - including prices, vehicle availability, and provider terms - is accurate and up to date. Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with any claim arising from use of this website shall not exceed the booking fee paid through this platform, if any.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Georgian law or the law of the governing jurisdiction.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Georgia. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, including any question regarding their existence, validity, or termination, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Georgia, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection law applicable in your country of residence.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
